LAH COVID-19 Response

LAH COVID-19 Response

In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Landisville Animal Hospital is taking the following precautions to minimize the transmission of COVID-19 and better protect our clients and staff:

  1. Hugs and Handshakes: On Hold- We hope that at LAH part of the reason you appreciate the care we give is the personal touch, and that our genuine love for both our clients and their pets can be very evident.  However, outward signs of that care will have to be minimized for the foreseeable future. Direct contact is a HUGE risk for spread, so we won’t be shaking hands or hugging, this isn’t a reflection on how we feel about our clients, just to minimize risk to everyone.  It’s not you, it’s us.

  1. Disinfection, Cleaning, oh, and more Disinfection- We have always been diligent in our cleaning and disinfection at LAH, minimizing the spread of disease for both patients and clients, but we will be increasing our already routine measures.  We will be disinfecting all door handles and benches between appointments, as well as increased handwashing (at great expense to our dry, dry skin, but it’s worth it!) We also just recently completed a training course on proper disinfection and hand-washing (yes, a course on hand-washing…it’s harder than it sounds!)

  1. Minimizing Public Gathering- Another option to minimize direct transmission is having clients and pets wait in the car, call in to check in, and when the exam room is ready, come straight into the room, to minimize groups of people in the lobby.  As of now this is simply an option, though all of our policies and procedures will be updated continually as new recommendations and regulations are handed down by the government.

Thank you so much for being such amazing clients, we will continue to update everyone as this very fluid situation develops.  Wash your hands, keep some distance, and let’s work together to minimize the severity of this pandemic.

Thanks, The Doctors and Staff at LAH
